I was gasping for breath throughout the whole of last week. Although it's juz the start of school term, projects and assignments have started to make their way through. God, but I've promised myself that there shall be no more "last minute" work again! I barely made my way through year 1 with my "always-last-minute-work" *shaking my head in shame*. I shall have a new start, with me working in the piles of reference books and notes as I need to do well to get into university! haiz... no choice, only to work extra than anyone else as English (as i've mentioned before) isn't my forte. In fact, it's my weakness. Although I'm taking on a risk, at the end of the 3 year course, I will be very proud of my own achievement for having been able to overcome this "weakness" :D
However, to back up this plan (depending all on my academic results to get into U), I've got to engaged heavily in school activities. So, I just grab any opportunities that come to me without a slightest hint of hesitation. To start off with, I become my school's library ambassador. I guess everyone must be pondering, why a library ambassador. Afterall, the word "library" strikes everyone as an activity associate with "boredom" or "useless". If you're thinking that way, you must be really wrong man! Initially, I thought the outcome would be like this too. However, I was proved to be terribly wrong. Together with another lib ambassador, Wee Jian, we've been put in-charge of the thematic display for the month of July. Well, there's actually a window pane besides the library entrance. Behind the window pane is a small area which the library will "exhibit" some books that is exposed to the public. Well, in short, it's sort of a mini "installation". Yup, and currently, we're still working on the theme for the thematic display. Hope, the outcome would turn out to be a good one, afterall it's our first try! :D
Secondly, I've signed u for the National Youth Achievement Award (Gold). Hope that this will greatly boost my chance of getting a place in the U.
Thirdly, I went for an audition to become my school's mandrain radio DJ. Initially, I signed up for both mandrain and english but, due to time constraint and laziness *my trademark, haiz...*, I forgo the english audition. The audition was held yesterday. It was quite pathetic as only 3 turned up for the mandrain audition, whereas 40 odd plus ppl signed up for the english one. Is mandrain such a BIG no-no to most of the students? It was pretty depressing despite the nation's great effort to "revive" the MT language. Everyone just seemed to act "ignorance" or really "oblivious" of the importance of MT language. They don't even want to give it a try and coming up with lame excuses such as "it's very hard to learn". Come on, nothing comes easy in this world. Everything just starts from zero. With pure hard work and effort, not forgetting perseverance, you will eventually work your way up. There're so many caucasians, indians, malays, who are able to communicate in Mandrain so much more better than the Chinese. Issit because they have a flair for the language? No! They start from zero and study hard for it. That's why they're able to reap what they sow (being able to articulate Mandrain damn clearly). Well, I guess it would take a long period of time before the MT language is widely use again.
ok, why am i talking so much "non-sensical" thing where in the end, people just can't be bothered with it. Ok, back to the audition. I seriously hope i can get in coz i'm desperately in need of CCA points.
Yup, that's all for today. Gotta go out soon. Guess it would take me a long time before i can blog in again.
