and when she speaks

Yesterday marked the end of the long and intensive practises that NP strings had since February. Flaws are inevitable in any concerts or performances. The 13th Virtuoso Concert was pretty successful although all the pieces ended much earlier as expected (that's wat happened when one is nervous). The Concerto For 2 Violins, the BIG piece, which Shufang, Timothy, Yongkang, Xiang Xiang and I had been preparing, could have been done better. The coordination went haywire in the middle section. Thanksfully, we were able to end the piece together. So, for those who are ignorant abt this piece, would probably think that there's nothing wrong.

Everything went well for me until the last piece, when i realised that the file which Frans took didn't contain our score. It was too late to go back in to get the correct one. It was indeed a nerve-racking moment for me as I did not memorise the song at all. What can i do? I can only pretend that everything was alright on the stage and play along. Haha... i was starring intensively at the score that was distance away from me. But it did litle help to me.

Oh well, thanks god not many of my frenz noticed it. haha... that means my acting skill was bravo! yay! But Frans looked so sorry when we got to the backstage, which made me feel so bad. haha.. instead, i took on the role to console him. Nonetheless, it was really an honour to be sitting beside Frans, coz he's a really good player. He inspired me to give in my best in watever i was playing.

Before I forget, thanks to those who came down to watch the concert! Really appreciate it! Although it may not be the best concert you've seen, or rather it's a far cry from those SSO concert, hope that you've enjoyed it. And I would like to apologise as I don't think i've given in my best for this time round. I promised for a better on in the future =)

Don: thanks for the lilies and 3 packets of pocky. The lilies are so preeeety! They're still my favourites! =) haha... btw, I got a sore throat after gorging on the pocky. haha...

The SAG gang: I was really surprised to see so many of you at the concert. I was really touched :'(. Thanks for the roses, the Starhub dog (shaking my head in disbelief, haha) and the postcard. Thanks for shouting my name out when I came out for the last piece. I wanna say thanks to my "daughter"- thanks for all ur effort in gathering ppl to support for this concert. Thanks!

Lw, ty and br: you all have been there for all the public performances i've been in. I know that, if not for me, the 3 of you wouldn't have come for these performances. I was really touched!

CH and CY: I wasn't able to catch both of you after the concert, so wanna say thanks for coming down.

Shahidah: You looked so lost when i looked for you after the concert. I know such concert isn't ur cup of tea, but u still make an effort to come down.

Sunita: Words simply aren't enough to express my gratitude to u. Nevertheless, thanks!
